When we talk about marketing, for a free blog, we are referring to two things:
- How to engage with our social media followers with our blog posts (social media marketing)
- How to gain subscribers for our blog, so that we can send them newsletters and else (email marketing, with marketing automation platforms and/or CRM)
WordPress adds one more feature under “Marketing”:
- How to try to keep your readers at your blog, by displaying “Related Posts” under each of your blog posts
In your WP Admin, under Tools > Marketing, you’ll find tools to do everything.
For a free blog, out of the five tools that the “Marketing” tabs offer, we only need to take care of three: Traffic, Connections and Sharing Buttons.
